How my card making progresses

Hi, Diana here with a couple of cards that shows two things - I can fit a Quietfire Design die/stamp on anything and my card making progresses as I play.

My first card is a straight up combination of dies.  I love this Welcome die - that flourish on top just makes me happy.  I had just gotten this Village Edges by Elizabeth Craft Designs and thought combined they would make the perfect Welcome to the neighborhood type card.  I used the Retro Alphabet Trio die set to add "to the neighborhood" but I didn't have room so I just spelled out "home" which I think works great.

I used Copics to color the Village die and also the bottom of the Welcome die for a nice ombre effect.  I sponged the clouds on the card base before gluing on all the die cuts.

Very basic card for me which is what I typically do when I first get a die.  For my second card, I decided to add more textures to the die by making the houses a bit more realistic.  I dabbed my Copics to mimic a stone house and a brick  house.  The roofs are now different colors from the walls and I added some trees.

I chose the "live next door" stamp from the "In a Perfect World" stamp set this time around - it's one of my favorite stamps.  But I think "Miss You" or "Congratulations" would also go great with this village die.  Like I said, I can find lots of places to use my Quietfire Design dies/stamps!

Thanks for looking!

Miss you...

Hello everyone,
Yvonne here sharing a card using the gorgeous Quietfire Design stamps!
Today a card with two stamping techiques.

* First the (embossing powder) background:
Stamp Quietfire Design "Leafy Acanthus Background" on blue cardstock using Versamark ink.
Then sprinkle white embossing powder over the stamped image.
The embossing powder will stick to the versamark ink.
Carfully tap on the back of the paper to remove the excess powder and if needed use a fine brush.
Heat the image with a heatgun and the embossing powder will melt.
Let the image cool down.
Then use some brown distress ink and an inkblending to to slightly colour the image.
Wipe the excess using some kitchen paper or an almost dry baby wipe.
The brown ink will not stick to the distress ink.

Die cut the image and glue upon gold pearl cardstock. mat upon a white card base.

* The second (simple) stamping:
The Quietfire sentiment Miss you was stamped onto the gold pearl paper using back ink.

Mat the sentiment upon white cardstock and glue onto the cardbase using 3D foam squares.

Finish the card with a satin bow.

Materials used:
  • Quietfire Design stamp: Leafy Acanthus Background #6061
  • Quietfire Design stampset: In a Perfect World # 5999 (set of 4 stamps)
  • Cardstock: white, gold pearl, blue
  • Brown distress inkpad, black inkpad, acrylic stamp block, versamark inkpad,
  • paper trimmer, scissors, glue, 3D foam squares, satin ribbon, die-template set

I hope you like the card and wish you a lovely late summer day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs from Holland,
Yvonne

Love - Calligraphic Elements 2 Heart - Our Friendship - Happy Birthday

Yogi here today using my new Oxide pads for the backgrounds... Loving them

I'm  using a couple of an A Way With Words dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Baby Love (2 pce set)", and "Calligraphic Elements #2" 3pce set, both also available on Quietfire Design HERE and HERE

And using a couple quote/sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design
("In A Perfect World" 4pce set); & ("Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" 7 pce set)

Scored and folded my red ribbed cardstock.
Created the oxide background on white cardstock by smushing the pads onto my craft sheet ("Fired Brick";  "Fossilized Amber"; "Walnut Stain";) misting generously with water and patting my cardstock into the wetness. Dried. Repeat several times till I got the look I was looking for...  Cut the background piece in half, trimmed down. Adhered to a red layer. Wrapped some ribbon white heart gauze and a twisted red/white rope cord. Then adhered it all to a heavy textured white cardstock then onto the front of my card..

Stamped the quote using Distress Picket Fence pad and white embossing powder. Repeated to get a nice thick layer of embossing. Used my Misti...

Die cut the script love and the flourished heart. Layered the heart onto a scrap piece of the textured paper and fussy cut around it. Then adhered to card front with 3D foam tape. Adhered the love.

On the inside: Used the other half of the background and adhered to white cardstock then onto the inside.

Die cut the outline flowers (Memory Box) from white cardstock. Colored the whole thing with Distress "Mowed Lawn" then hit here and there with "Forest Moss" in the leafy areas. Used the edge of a "Black Soot" pad on the floral outline. Clear embossed the whole thing, then adhered to inside. Used a Quickie Glue Pen to the open spaces and sprinkled with Stickles dry glitter "Diamond"

Stamped the "Happy Birthday" with the Picket Fence and embossed with the white embossing powder, using my Misti to double stamp/emboss.

Our Friendship Spans the Miles

Teresa here today. It's a beautiful Tuesday and it's time to share a card i did with one of my favorite stamps sets for friendship.  It's called "In a perfect World" and it's a set of 4 really beautiful stamps.  It's always good to have a set of stamps that you can use to send out to friends and let them know they are loved and this is the perfect one.

For my card i started with pretty spring papers from Carte Bella and white card stock.  For the basic card i cut a white square about 5 1/2 inches and then cut a piece of the peach to fit on the back.  Then i cut a smaller 3"strip of the flowered print to go across the middle of the card.  This way it will give it a springtime look when the white die cuts are over the top.  And you can use anything you have in your stash to make this layer.  Just having the pretty die cuts makes the sentiment really stand out.  And be sure and add 3D Foam squares for more of a dimensional effect.

And for the sentiment i stamped it in Momento ink in Pistachio to match the green in the flower print. And i didn't want to make it too fancy so i just tied a quick double bow with peach seam binding ribbon and added a rose with a bit of glitter.  And that's it.  It's quick and easy and ready to get off to the mailbox to a friend.

Here is a photo of the stamp set and all the other's that come with it.  It's a really nice set.

Thanks so much for stopping over and i hope that you have a really wonderful day!

In a Perfect World - Guest Designer Judi Kauffman

{Every once in a while, Judi sends me a gem she's created.  Love this background!}

In a Perfect World

Get out your deckle-edge scissors! Judi Kauffman's combined one of her favorite Quietfire Design stamps - 'In a perfect world' - with a Magic Stamp block she made with leaves from a friend's back yard right before the friend retired and moved to another state. The results: A smashing 5 x 7 card with a handmade paper side-fold base. Happy memories are meant to be shared and this simple card shows one way to do so. (In case you were wondering, the other layer in the background was made with another Magic Stamp block, this time pressed against vintage lace.)

Have you ever had one good friend that just pulls on your heart strings, well that's my friend!

Our Friendship Spans The Miles

Hello Everyone, hope you have had a terrific week. Terre here with a simple yet elegant friendship card created using one of Quietfire Designs new stamp sets, In A Perfect World. Last post I challenged each of you to create a special friendship card or just a card in general and mail it out, I wonder how many people actually did?

On my creative card i used several of Spellbinders die templates, some new some old. I blinged up this card using Pearls, Clear Rhinestone Bling and Black Rhinestones from Want2Scrap. I attached the card using Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry and popped the center with the sentiment up using Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L White Foam Squares.

The In A Perfect World. sentiment was stamped using Tsukinenko Memento Tuxedo Black ink
I hope you have enjoyed this crafty creation, have a wonderful weekend, Crafty Smiles, Terre

In a Perfect World

Hello!  It's my pleasure today to show you my new favorite stamped saying from Quietfire:  In a perfect world you would live next door.  Don't you just love it when you see something like that and immediately think of several people you want to send it off to?  And then when it is perfectly written too - ahh, crafty bliss.  :)

Quietfire Design, In a perfect world, Diana Nguyen, die-namites, birdhouse, card

I kept it very simple (no surprise there!) with a watercolored die from Die-namites Hello Birdhouse and a softly sponged background.  There were 4 houses on this die so I trimmed a couple off and moved one around so that I would have room for my sentiment.

New Stamps Sneak Peek

It's Suzanne here again! Whew, it's quite a week here at Quietfire!  We announced our new dies from Elizabeth Craft Design on Tuesday and now we want to share our seven new stamps!

They are so new we don't have any artwork to share with you yet! Sorry! You may order these now but orders containing them will not be shipping until I return from holidays, July 30th.  I had originally planned to do a Christmas in July event, but there has been so much going on behind the scenes that the ducks didn't line up! Nevertheless, we still have Christmas stamps to share with you.  The Design Team will be having fun with these soon, so stayed tuned for great inspiration.

When I Saw This I Thought of You

This could be used for Christmas, too, but it's good for any time you're missing someone.  This was made with my friend Susan in St. Albert in mind, because we've been thinking exactly this for many years!
In A Perfect World

And the last one struck chord with a lot of the members of the Design Team!  Thanks to Robyn Josephs for sending this my way. (She also provided the "list" quote at the top of this post!) I think this quote needs to become a piece for my wall as a reminder....
