A Mother’s Day Frame!

Sherry here today and it’s my turn to post a project!  With the first day of Spring just a few days away and Easter just around the corner, my thoughts are turning to warm weather and my favorite time of the year.  I thought I would get an early jump on Mother’s Day and make my mom something special this year . . . If I can wait until then to give it to her!

The Quietfire sentiment I used is A Mother is She.

The frame is made from chipboard that was die cut with Spellbinders Grand Labels One and Grand Ovals.  The sentiment was stamped in black on watercolor paper and then die cut/embossed with the smallest Grand Oval.

The top layer of the frame is Gold Foil Engraving Board that was die cut and then embossed with Spellbinders Dainty Dots M-Bossabilities.  The embossed areas were sanded to reveal the gold foil
beneath the black coating.

The flowers (Blossoms Five), leaves (Foliage and Rose Creations) and flourishes (Venetian Motifs) are made from watercolor paper that was die cut and then colored with Distress Stains.

The flowers were colored with Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Aged Mahogany Distress Stains; and the leaves in Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss.  (Video Tutorial:  Dimensional Flowers with Watercolor Paper)

My goal was to keep with the colors that my mother has throughout her home . . . black, gold, taupe and hits of red, yellow and oranges.

Stunning! So elegant with black and gold - but the dainty dots and flowers make it warm and feminine. Thank you for sharing!
