GOD GRANT ME THE SERENITY- CARD

Hi Everyone! Holly here, hoping you are having a great Canada Day, or a fabulous Monday, whichever applies to you.
My technique today is Newsprint Reveal and the feature of it is to have text show through the design- hence the print being revealed. :)
To my mind, the best text around is created by Suzanne, of Quietfire Design. I chose  THIS stamp because it has smaller letters and lots of them, filling the design space well.
To begin:
I adhered COPPER TAPE to scrap card stock, then dry embossed several times with a couple different M-BOSSIBILITIES . Then I flipped it over and flattened it with my BONE FOLDER. This gives the copper great texture.

I used BLACK SOOT DISTRESS INK to stamp repeatedly onto the card stock.

Once dry, I stamped the  BUTTERFLIES with VERSAMARK and CLEAR EMBOSSED them. I dragged CHIPPED SAPPHIRE DISTRESS INK across the entire piece of card stock, then wiped away the excess from the embossed areas, using a tissue.

I punched butterflies from KAISERCRAFT MAGIC HAPPENS card stock, then attached the copper frame and butterflies to the card front. Using a white gel pen, I did faux stitching around the embossed butterflies and around the edge of the piece. This is playtime- doodle, dots and dashes, scribbles, whatever you like. I did a squiggly line with little curls here and there. I used the purple pen from the GALAXY COLORS, GELLY ROLL STARDUST set, to draw stitching around the small punched butterflies.

The final steps were to round the corners and adhere to the black card base.

I hope you like this technique and decide to give it a try. Thanks for stopping by!

I have copper tape sitting around just aching to be used. Now I have a new idea for using it. Great technique with the emboss/resist. Thanks!

What a great background and use of copper tape! I will have to give both of these a try.
