Follow Your Dreams Art Journal Page

Hey Quietfire Fans! I was busy this past weekend playing with the Butterflies/Dragonflies stamp set to create my Follow Your Dreams Art Journal Page. Combining the stamp set with a few other stamps and some A Way With Words dies, they were the perfect addition to my page. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my art journal page at home.

To start, choose two pages in your art journal. Once your pages have been chosen, spray both pages with water. With the water on the pages, spray Dylusions Ink Spray - Peony Blush, Vanilla Custard and Rose Quartz. Close the book. Open the book and roll paper towel overtop of the pages. Allow time to dry.

Choose four different stencils. Start with one stencil and use Dylusions Paint - Rose Quartz and a blending tool with foam to stencil overtop of the Rose Quartz sprayed colour. Next, you'll need the next stencil and use Dylusions Paint - Vanilla Custard and a blending tool with foam to stencil overtop of the Vanilla Custard sprayed colour. Next, you'll need the third stencil and use Dylusions Paint - Peony Blush and a blending tool with foam to stencil overtop of the Peony Blush sprayed colour. To finish the stencilling, you'll need the fourth stencil and use Dylusions Paint - White Linen and a blending tool with foam to stencil overtop of each page as desired.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background stamp and stamp around the edges of the page. Reapply ink as desired. To finish off the edges of the pages, rub Black Soot Distress Crayon around the edges of the pages.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the small dragonfly, small butterfly and large butterfly and then stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply the Jet Black Archival Ink to the small butterfly and stamp onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Use a waterbrush and the coordinating Dylusions Ink Spray to colour the butterflies and dragonfly. Fussy cut the butterflies and dragonfly out. Ink the edges of the butterflies and dragonfly using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need two doiles, leave one doily white. Spray the other doily with Dylusions Ink Spray - Vanilla Custard. Set the doily aside to dry.

Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of black cardstock.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Follow Your Dreams stamp set and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Reapply Jet Black Archival Ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. Cut the sentiment out in strips. You will need to use both stamped sentiments. Ink the edges of each strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

On a piece of watercolour cardstock, spritz Dylusions Ink Spray - Peony Blush, Rose Quartz and Vanilla Custard. Die cut the Butterflies Sprays out of the coloured cardstock. Repeat the previous step. Ink the edges of all of the butterflies using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

First, we will assemble the right page. Adhere the white doily in the bottom portion of the page. Foam square the three butterflies one on top of each other on the doily. Adhere three die cut butterflies on the doily as desired.

Adhere the orange doily to the top portion of the left page. Adhere the oval frame overtop of the doily.

Foam square the sentiment as desired in the oval frame. Foam square the dragonfly to the right of the sentiment.

To finish off the page, adhere the die cut butterflies as desired around the doily.
