Cherish this day

It's a beautiful Tuesday and I hope that you have lots of fun crafty things planned for this week.  I have a few cards to share with you using our beautiful "Way with Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft and simple papers that you might have in your stash.

This is one of my favorite cards that I made with the "Cherish" Way with Words dies and you can use it in so many ways just by itself or adding one of Suzanne's stamps that can go with it.  For mine i used a deep rich burgundy paper to cut out my sentiment and also used it for the base of the card.  I used pretty papers to match and also another die that i had in my stash to create a base for the die to be on. All i needed was to add a bow and a few rhinestones and it was all done... super easy!

Here's a closeup of the Cherish die so you can see all the gorgeous flourishes it has.

And i also had time to make up a quick card using my favorite colors- aqua, black and white.  For this card i used the Mr and Mrs die set and a pretty die i had in my stash from "Becca Feeken".  I think it's a great match and shows you how nice they fit together.  The blue dotted swiss paper gives it a nice contrast with the white and black papers on the top of it.

If you haven't checked already here is a link to all the new releases this month...

And that's all from me today and I am so glad you stopped by... have a wonderful week
and hope you create something fun and crafty!!

Cherish

Good Morning.  This is Selma today and I have a card with Suzanne's beautiful A Way With Words - Cherish die cut.  Isn't that a beautiful sentiment!

Cherish - Metal Cutting Die

To give dimension to the sentiment, Cherish was die cut four times and all four die cuts glued together.  By doing this, it really makes the sentiment "pop".

This is a 6x6 inch card.  A piece of ScrapBerry's Happily Ever After design paper was used for the background.  Els van de Burgt Entwined Oval was die cut and centered at the top of the card.  Cherish was glued in the center.

In keeping with the flowers in the design paper, I used Susan's Garden Notes Peony and Garden  Notes Hydrangea die sets to create matching flowers.  At the top of the card two Corners 1 die cuts were added.  These dies sets are available from Elizabeth Craft Designs. To complete the card, a few pearls were added.

Be sure to check out all 55, A Way With Word, die sets at this LINK.  I am sure you will be excited about all the beautiful sentiments you can die cut for your projects.

Wedding Week at Quietfire - Congratulations Yvonne!

We’re pretty excited over here at Quietfire Design. One of our own is being married this week!  Congrats to Yvonne van de Grijp!  Yvonne is marrying the love of her life, Harrie, in the Netherlands – in a windmill! on Wednesday.  Pretty romantic if you ask me. She’s so excited!

This week we’re celebrating her happy event with a collection of well wishes!  Yvonne makes the most gracefully elegant cards, so you can just imagine how beautiful her wedding will be.

Congratulations Yvonne and Harrie!  Have a wonderful wedding day.  We wish you all good things in your life together.

Here is how I made this card:
  1. Form a 7 x 5" tent fold card from white Soft Finish Cardstock.
  2. Die cut Cherish and the Fitted and Scalloped Ovals from Soft Finish Cardstock.
  3. Sponge Worn Lipstick Distress Ink around the edges of the Scalloped Oval and on Cherish, adding more colour near the bottom of the word.
  4. Adhere Cherish to the center of the Fitted Oval with Glue Dots.  Adhere this to the Scalloped Oval with foam adhesive for dimension.  Attach these layers to the card front with foam adhesive.
  5. Embellish with a messy bow.
