Cozy Christmas

It's Suzanne here today! Over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog, there are a whole bunch of us posting Christmas projects to inspire you.  Make sure you visit to see all the goodness!

Here is my contribution.  Supplies are listed at the bottom!

Instructions:

  1. Form a 6x6” tent-fold card base from off-white cardstock.
  2. Die cut the leafy wreath from the Rosebud Wreath and Elements set, once from pale green and once from medium green.
  3. Diecut Cozy from patterned paper.
  4. Cut a 6x6” panel from patterned paper and die cut second largest circle from the Fitted Circles in the middle of this panel.
  5. Die cut Christmas from red cardstock and the mittens from the Flourished Christmas Minis.  Also cut 3 sets of the leaves in Calligraphic Elements 3 from red cardstock.  We will form little poinsettias with them!
  6. Die cut six snowflakes from the Brrrrrrr die set as well as the cuffs of the flourished mittens.
  7. Sponge the edges of all the diecuts with Distress Ink.
  8. Use foam squares to place the 6x6” panel to the card front.
  9. Intertwine leafy wreaths and adhere them in the center of the circle.
  10. Position your words as you’d like them and then adhere them one at a time to the card base inside the leafy wreath.
  11. Loop the flourished mittens through the flourish in Christmas and adhere them to the panel.
  12. Form little poinsettias with the leaves you’ve cut from red cardstock.  Add a little pearl to the middle of each one.  Attach them to the card front as desired.
  13. Add the snowflakes to the cardfront as desired.
  14. Pat yourself on the back! It's beautiful!

Make a Christmas Word Tree

It's the countdown to Christmas! Bring on the glitz with this bright Christmas Word Tree card (or it would be awesome in a frame!). It's Suzanne here today. For this project simply choose the A Way With Word dies that you have (or maybe pick up a couple more) and start die cutting!
I still have Noel and Dec.25 die cut in gold for another project.  All you need to do is choose words that get progressively wider.  Don't worry about overlapping flourishes!
There are really no directions for making these. Simply decide which words you will use and die cut them.  Deciding on the size of the triangle might be the hardest part.  Here is how you can do that part!

Instructions:
  1. Die cut your a Way With Words from gold cardstock.
  2. Take a scrap piece of paper and draw a pencil line down the middle with a ruler from top to bottom.  Lay out your words as they will appear on the final card, centered over the pencil line, aligned with the bottom of the paper. Mark the edges of the bottom (largest) word. Make sure the word really is centered. If not, measure the distance from the center line to the marks and adjust.
  3. Draw a pencil line from the mark on the bottom edge to the center line above the smallest word at the top.  Duplicate this line from the other mark at the bottom to finish your triangle.  Cut this shape from the paper you will use for the tree.  The triangle for my card has a 5" base and is 7.75" high.
  4. Adhere the words to the triangle tree as shown and add some embellishments if you wish. Create a side-fold card base that is sized for your tree and mount your tree onto it with foam adhesive.
Supplies:
Blue and Gold cardstock
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Square
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Dodz

If you're looking for a different, less formal look, here is an idea!  This one is more winter themed, but it could just as easily be Christmas.  Make it in the look that's right for you!  Mix and match your designer papers to create branches on your tree.  Have fun!!

The triangle for this card measures 5.5" across the base and is 8" high.  The "branches" are 1.25" high. The smallest is 1.25" wide, then 2" wide, then 2.75", 3.5" and finally 4.5" wide.  Depending on the papers you use, you might not even need the triangle.

A Way With Words kisses Stampin' Up!

My friend Jacoline Fitzgerald knew what a panic I was in as I prepared for the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton earlier this month!  She had purchased the Buy It All complete set of A Way With Words dies, so she was ready to create and lend a much-needed and unexpected helping hand.  What a sweetheart!

I wanted to share her beautiful cards with you.  Jacoline is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator who doesn't mind stepping out every once in a while - and boy, am I glad she does.  All products used in these cards are Stampin' Up!, except for the A Way With Words dies, of course, and the poinsettia on the Noel card which is Susan Tierney-Cockburn's Garden Notes Poinsettia available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Just click on each card to see it larger!
If you have any questions about the Stampin' Up! items Jacoline used, you may contact her on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jacoline.b.fitzgerald
Thank you so much Jacoline!
