Brrrr - Christmas Waves A Magic Wand - Let It Snow

Yogi here today and I got a few more Penny Black stamps and wanted to use them right away... BIG GRIN - I LOVE getting new stuff...

I'm using an A Way With Words dies  "Brrrr and Snowflake" 2pce set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm also using a quote and background stamp from Quietfire Design ("Christmas Waves A Magic Wand..."); ("Let It Snow" 6pce set)

Scored and folded my dark brown cardstock to create the easel structure (5"w x 7"h card closed). Cut another piece same size and adhered to front.

Using my Tim's Stampin' Platform and Distress pads stamped the Jingle Bells Trio. Moved color around with a water brush. Dried. Cut a mask for the bells and stamped the evergreen (Old Island #626D) on the left several times to create a more massive tree... Used the tip of the stamp to stamp smaller trees on the right side. Cut a piece of cardstock in a wavy design and sponged some blue to give shadows in the snow. Again with my Derwent Watercolor pencil and using the side of the pencil colored the sky background. Moved color around with a wet brush. Stamped the snowflakes with Distress Picket Fence and embossed with Emerald Creek "Glacier White" embossing powder. Masked the bells again and splattered white ink all over. Added a white snowflake button.

Stamped the "Let It Snow" using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed.

On the floor: Stamped the quote using Versafine Black Onyx on white cardstock. Clear embossed. Die cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Circles" die set. Sponged some blue around the edges. Adhered to floor.

Adhered the die cut snowflake embossed with the Glacier White.

Die cut the "Brrrr" from Dreamweaver Packaging cardstock and adhered to a piece of the brown cardstock, scored and adhered to floor to act as my stopper.

Joy

Have you started working on your Christmas card yet?  Hello Friends, this is Selma Stevenson today.

Flourished Ornament - Set of 4 Stamps - Mounted

I fell in love with the Joy stamp which is in the Quietfire Creations Flourished Ornament stamp set.  Isn't it beautiful!

To show off this beautiful stamp, I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs Dotted Scalloped Oval die set and die cut one of each size ovlas.  The ovals were layered, using dimensional tape, so that the edge of each die cut matched at the top of the largest oval.  These ovals are very dimensional.  Before attaching the smallest oval, I used VersaMark and Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Power to stamp the sentiment.  This oval set was attached in the middle of the card at the upper edge.

Two flowers were created using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die sets.  Ten pine boughs were die cut using Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set.  The poinsettias were die cut using white card stock and a brush dipped in bright pink reinker, was brushed down the center of each petal.   The poinsettias and pine boughs were arranged at the bottom of the oval die cuts.  Gold cording and beads were added around the arrangement.  The green background was outlined using Elizabeth Craft Design Gold Peel Off Line Stickers.  Two Gold Peel Off Sticker Corners were added at the top.  There were some gold pieces left when the Gold Corner Stickers were pulled off the sticker sheet.  I used a few of these pieces under the sentiment.

Christmas Waves a Magic Wand - Mounted

The Quietfire Creations Christmas Waves a Magic Wand stamp is one of my favorite to use on Christmas cards.  This sentiment is perfect for anyone.  This is the stamp I used for the inside of this card.

In keeping with the ovals on the front of the card, the two largest Dotted Scallop Ovals were die cut.  The Christmas Waves a Magic Wand sentiment was stamped using VersaMark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

I always add an extra piece of card stock to the inside of my cards that is slightly smaller than 6x6 inches.  A Gold Peel Off Line Sticker was added to the bottom of the piece.  To match the front of the card, two more Gold Peel Off Corner Stickers were added inside.

Be sure to go over to the Quietfire Creations Store to find just the perfect stamp or die to create your holiday cards.

Christmas Waves A Magic Wand - New Design Team Member!

This is Selma Stevenson and I am on Susan Tierney-Cockburn's Design Team at Elizabeth Craft Designs. {And now on our Design Team!} Suzanne's stamps and sentiment dies are a perfect match with Susan's beautiful flowers.

This is a 5 1/2" x 6" card.  The rubber stamp used is the "Christmas Waves a Magic Wand".  It was gold embossed on a piece of white card stock 2 1/2" x 4 1/2", then backed with a piece of brushed gold card stock.

The verse reads "Christmas waves a magic wand over this world and behold everything is softer and more beautiful".  This reminds me of being out during a beautiful snowfall.

A piece of white card stock, 5" x 5 1/2" was embossed using the Elizabeth Craft Snowflake embossing folder.  To create dimension, I die cut snowflakes from the Elizabeth Craft Spiral Circle Pull Card, and the All Seasons Tree die sets.  The smaller snow flakes were attached over the larger snowflakes with dimensional tape.  To give them the sparkle, I dabbed each snowflake with glue and sprinkled on Elizabeth Craft Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

The poinsettia was created with Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and has the Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter on the petals.

On the inside of the card, I added the Quietfire die cut Merry Christmas, from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This sentiment was also die cut using brushed gold card stock.  To finish the inside, two more glittered snowflakes were added.

Die-cut Christmas card "Christmas waves a wand...."

Hello everyone!

It's Yvonne here today...
I love this time of year....putting up the Christmas tree (and yes... each and every year it's a struggle to find and put the right branches onto our artificial tree! lol), decorating our home and putting up lots and lots of twinkling lights in the garden.
Christmas simply brings that close family feeling and I can't wait to host two days of Christmas diners at our home this year!

Today I made you all a traditional looking Christmas card using only one set of die-cutting templates and one of the latest stamps by Quietfire: Christmas waves a magic wand.
The sentiment describes my Christmas mood so well!

For the cardbase I used a white card size 5 3/8"x 6 1/2".
Layer with kraft cardstock and patterned paper.
Die-cut Decorative Accents Labels 40 #4 (with #1 being the smallest die-template) and stencil with Vintage Photo Distress ink (using a ink blending tool).
Stamp the Quietfire sentuiment upon white cardstock and die-cut using template #3.
Glue die-cuts onto the card base using 3D foam squares for a beautiful 3D effect.
Embellish the card and...voila....

Used materials:

Wishing you all lots and lots of fun preparing for Christmas!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Yvonne

eCut Cardinal - Christmas Waves a Magic Wand

Yogi here today with an eCut card. As soon as I saw this eCut file, I knew I had to use it. Love all the elements in it...

Side folded my white cardstock (7"w x 5"h). Since I'm using an 8.5 x 11" piece of cardstock, I had to splice another piece to the inside... (which I did after doing the stamping and coloring).

I ungrouped the elements in the Studio file, cut them, adding a few more sprigs of pine and also cutting a shadow layer for the sentiment (offset function). Colored the branches while on the mat using Distress mini pads "Forest Moss" and then some "Crushed Olive".

For the Cardinal, applied various Distress reds direct to paper, then a bit of sponging. Glued the elements together.

Applied Versafine "Toffee" to the word and embossed with "Queen's Gold" embossing  powder. Sponged "Worn Lipstick" to the shadow layer, then ran through my embossing machine with Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots", hit the high points with "Aged Mahogany", Adhered both layers together.

On the front of the card, used a Memory Box "Snowflake Flurries" stencil which I lightly sprayed with Krylon "Easy Tac" (to keep my stencil in place) and sponged "Tumbled Glass". Moved the stencil as needed.

Adhered my eCut elements, over and under lapping. Masked off the top and bottom of the quote (Christmas Waves a Magic...) with masking tape and inked with Versafine Black Onyx, removed masking and stamped.

Added dots of Marvy "Puffy Velvet" white and heat activated to mimic snow.

As a final touch, put lines of Quickie Glue on the stenciled snowflakes and sprinkled with Stickles "Star Dust" glitter.

On the inside stamped the pine boughs (Old Island Rubber) using the Moss & Olive, misting with water and stamping. Repeated for the 2nd bough. Then stamped the bottom of the quote, masking the top section and using the black.

CHRISTMAS WAVES A MAGIC WAND- CARD

Hi Everyone! Holly here, and it's that time again, to be making our Christmas cards.

I have one technique to share, embossed and antiqued foil tape. Another quick and easy way to add a little something to your cards.

Strips of foil tape were attached to strips of black cardstock, then embossed using Spellbinders
M-Bossibilities RUSTIC WREATH. Black acrylic paint was brushed all over the foil, then most of it was wiped away, leaving some paint in the recessed areas.
Once dry, the foil pieces were cut down to size and attached to the card.
CHRISTMAS WAVES A MAGIC WAND was my stamp of choice for this card. I also used a FLOURISH stamp, and added sponging to the edges.

This card was stamped with A SMILE IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS DECORATION and the holly stamp from HAVE A HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS.
Some sponging around the edges, a little strip of foil with a Sharpie coloured rhinestone, completes this card. My go to inks are Jet Black ARCHIVAL INK for the quote stamps and DISTRESS INKS for sponging and colour.

I hope you'll give this a try, and have fun!
Thanks for stopping in today!

Napkin Fold Card - A Smile is the Best

Yogi here today with a napkin fold card structure I came across recently and have been having fun making them... so I thought you might enjoy it too. The nitty gritty instructions for the structure are at the bottom of this post.

I scored and folded my pink marbled paper as per instructions. Added pieces of the heavily embossed cardstock as accents and the other areas I painted with Distress Acrylic Daubers "Victorian Velvet".

Used Martha Stewart punch around the page punch set "Deco Fan".

Created the center strip wide enough for my ribbon, plus a border to put my adhesive and plus the 2 punched borders out of 110# white cardstock. Wrapped it around my closed card to get where the folds would end up. Adhered my ribbon to the back section of the strip only in the area that would be adhered to the back of the card, leaving the rest of the ribbon loose. Now adhered the strip to the back of the card. I cut 2 pieces of white cardstock (rectangle shape) to enclose the loose ribbon and adhered them to the strip.

Stamped the quote (A smile is the best) on white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed and die cut with Spellbinders circle die set. Sponged edges with a dirty pink sponge. Adhered to strip and added some white rhinestone stars.

On the inside: Stamped the tree line (Just For Fun "Pine Forest") using Versamark and embossing with white embossing powder. Cut a wavy shape on some post it notes and used them as masks sponging Distress "Tumbled Glass" and "Spun Sugar". Heat set.

Stamped the quote (Christmas waves a magic wand - revamped) with the black and clear embossed. Trimmed down and adhered to inside of card adding some rhinestone stars.

Note: this quote is an updated version - a little larger too.

NITTY GRITTY NAPKIN FOLD INSTRUCTIONS:
Check your punch set instructions to decide what size square you will work with.I used 10.25" square. I found the mid point (5 1/8"), then folded the sides toward the mid point (3 1/16"). Repeated along the other side. (see dia #1)

Find your center point and mark with a light pencil.
Fold each corner point to the center, aligning your edges, and making sure your folds are square. (sorry, my diagram is a little lopsided...) (see dia #2)

Push the "C" & "D" folds inwards (mountain folds) to create the napkin fold. It will also force the "A" and "B" folds to align with the edges of the pink square on the outside. (see dia #3)

Finally, fold down the points to the edge of the card. It's at this point you unfold everything and punch around the edges.

Christmas wallet gift card holder

Happy Friday!  Kathy Jo here to share some gift card holders I made for Christmas.  The pattern came from CardMaker magazine "Happy Holidays" (November 2014).  Also in the magazine are two amazingly beautiful winter cards from Suzanne Cannon (pages 110-112) that you will not want to miss.  A cherry on top: Quietfire has an ad in the magazine for 20% off the rubber stamp portion of your order with the special coupon code shown in the ad.  Yay!  The magazine is in the newstands now so don't forget to pick it up!  :)
Happy Holidays
I really like making this wallet gift card holder.  As a matter of fact, this is my fourth and I have plans to make more.  Quietfire stamps fit perfectly on the wallet front and they look gorgeous!
The blue snowflake wallet used Quietfire's "Christmas waves a magic wand" stamp.   It was embossed and layered on Spellbinders' Opulent Ovals and Floral Ovals.  Snowflakes, glitter and gem were added as shown.
Christmas Waves a Magic Wand - Mounted
The inside holds the gift card snuggly between whatever pretty paper you choose.  Unlike the outside which used mainly plain blue paper dry embossed (to ensure the lovely sentiment is the focus), the inside contains pretty patterned paper.
The pattern in CardMaker used a slide on/off band to close the wallet.  Instead, I went with seam binding to secure the wallet closed.  The seam binding was only adhered under the two larger outside sections- as shown below.
Here is a snaphot again of the closed wallet:
Two other cards made used a different color scheme and Quietfire stamp, "Hold on to The Spirit of Christmas":
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Snowflake Frame - 3 Xmas Cards

Yogi here today with a loooong post... with several Christmas cards using the Snowflake Circle Frame in various sizes. Love this eCut that Suzanne created and available on the Silhouette onLine Store HERE and the Heart Snowflake HERE

First Card: Take Time to Delight
I Side folded my dark blue card (5"w x 5"h). Embossed the front using Sizzix"Snowflake" set embossing folder.

eCut the snowflake frame at 4"dia on 110# white cardstock. Sponged Distress "Tumbled Glass" all over then some "Tattered Rose". Dried. Stamped the quote "Take Time to Delight" using Versamark and embossed with silver embossing powder.

Applied white glue on the snowflake edge and sprinkled with Stampendous "Crystal Snow" glitter. Adhered frame to card front.

eCut the snowflake, inked with the Versamark and embossed with "Rainbow Sparkle" embossing powder. Adhered to card front with a 3D foam tape and added a pearl heart.

Second Card: - Tri Fold - Snowflakes Are Kisses
Card made using light blue cardstock. Card is scored (left side at 2.5") and (right side at 2.75"). Card closed is 4"w x 6"h

Embossed the left flap with Sizzix "Snowflakes". Wrapped a piece of Sari ribbon (Denim) around the flap and tied a bow.

Lay the snowflake frame (4" dia) on my cutting mat and eCut. Sponged with Distress "Chipped Sapphire", dried, then applied the glue on the snowflakes and sprinkled with Stampendous "Crystal Snow" glitter. eCut a basic 2.75" circle and stamped the quote "Snowflakes are Kisses..." using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Sponged the circle with "Broken China" then with the Sapphire, sprinkled with water and dried. I found it too dark so went over it with Distress Stain "Picket Fence" Hit the edge of the circle with Deco Arts "Snow Writer" and heat activated. Adhered circle to snowflake frame and then to the front flap. eCut another frame (same 4" size) and adhered to the back on the inside to give it more body. Stamped the larger of the "Merry Christmas Snowflakes"  using Versafine "Majestic Blue" and clear embossing.

Stamped the Snowflakes "Merry" and "Christmas" "Snowflakes are Butterflies" on the inside with the blue and clear embossed.

Final touch, eCut the snowflake, inked with the Versamark and embossed with "Rainbow Sparkle" embossing powder. Adhered to card front with a glue gun to the center of the bow. Added a pearl heart.

For this third card: Booklet - Christmas Waves a Magic Wand

I side folded my white card (5.5"w x 4.25"h). Embossed the front and the inside using Cuttlebug "Winter Frolic" set. On the inside, sponged with a dirty blue sponge.

I had left over pieces from 2 previous cards (light blue and deep blue), so trimmed them down a bit and adhered them to the front. Edged one of the flaps of the deep blue with a Versamark pad and embossed with "Queen's Gold" embossing powder.

eCut the snowflake frame - 1 at 3" dia (front) and one at 2.5" dia (inside). Stamped the quote "Christmas Waves a Magic Wand..." using Versafine "Majestic Blue" and clear embossed. Hit the snowflakes with the Versamark pad and embossed with the gold. Adhered to light blue front piece.

Next page I eCut the "Noel, inked with Versafine "Toffee" and embossed with the gold. Adhered to light blue layer. This light blue layer was then adhered to front of deep blue.

eCut the snowflake, inked with the Versamark and embossed with "Rainbow Sparkle" embossing powder. Adhered to light/deep blue layer. Added a pearl heart.

Stamped the "Merry Christmas Snowflake" using the blue and clear embossed on the smaller snowflake frame. Adhered to deep blue layer.
