Always & Forever

Hi there, Artlings!  It’s Suzanne here today with a simple, elegant version of Always & Forever.  You can see this card with instructions over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today.
This is perfect for a guy for Valentine’s Day, but by changing the colour of the gently sponged ink, you can pink it right up!  By adding dimension to each layer, the result is a super special card for a super special person. Wouldn’t this make a stunning wedding or anniversary card?
This card is so simple to make. It took me longer to photograph it than to make it.  And the photo really doesn’t do it justice!

A Way With Words kisses Stampin' Up!

My friend Jacoline Fitzgerald knew what a panic I was in as I prepared for the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton earlier this month!  She had purchased the Buy It All complete set of A Way With Words dies, so she was ready to create and lend a much-needed and unexpected helping hand.  What a sweetheart!

I wanted to share her beautiful cards with you.  Jacoline is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator who doesn't mind stepping out every once in a while - and boy, am I glad she does.  All products used in these cards are Stampin' Up!, except for the A Way With Words dies, of course, and the poinsettia on the Noel card which is Susan Tierney-Cockburn's Garden Notes Poinsettia available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

If you have any questions about the Stampin' Up! items Jacoline used, you may contact her on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jacoline.b.fitzgerald
Thank you so much Jacoline!

Always and Forever

This week at Quietfire Design we are celebrating a marriage of one of our own team members.  Since we're spread out all over the globe, we're with her on-line all week.  Congratulations,  Yvonne van de Grijp!  We hope you have a wonderful day and an even better "happily ever after" always and forever.  (And we can't wait to see pictures!)

Yvonne has given us an idea of what her elegant and gorgeous wedding is going to be like so when I made this card, I kept the colors white and grey.  I die cut out the Always & Forever out of white shimmer card stock and grey card stock.  The hydrangeas and curvy leaves by Elizabeth Craft Designs were also cut out of the same shimmery card stock though I did add a touch of grey and green with my lightest Copic markers.

The Always & Forever die cuts were glued together with a slight offset for a shadow effect and the hydrangeas were clumped together to look like wisteria.

Thank you so much for looking and I hope you join me in sending beautiful thoughts and wishes Yvonne's way!

Always and Forever - New Dies!

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with two shimmery cards featuring Always and Forever, two of the new dies released by Elizabeth Craft Designs and designed by Quietfire Design.  You can use them separately as I did here, or put them together with an ampersand or add hearts from the Calligraphic Elements 2 dies.

These were very simple to make but I love the way they turned out.  I started by dabbing Izink ink through an Elizabeth Craft Designs stencil to make the 'patterned' paper.  You could use any ink but I love the shimmer and the colour of the Izink pigment ink.

Then, I dry embossed Shimmer Sheetz with an embossing folder to give the sheetz some pattern and texture.  I used sheetz from the Sampler Packs - they were just the right size and gave me a huge variety of colours from which to choose.
The final step was to add the sentiments and ribbon.  The new Always and Forever dies are perfect for wedding, anniversary and Valentine's cards and layouts.  I added hearts from the new Calligraphic Elements 2 - this set also has a couple of ampersands perfect for using with Always & Forever.

Supplies Used:  Core'dinations cardstock, Elizabeth Craft Designs stencil, dies and shimmer sheetz, Big Shot die cutting machine, Clearsnap Izink ink, tulle from fabric store, Close to my Heart embossing folders, Beacon adhesive.
