Love Script - Music Expresses That - Keyboard Easel card

Yogi here today and I thought I'd get a Valentine's card done...

I'm using an A Way With Words dies  "Baby Love Script" set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

I'm also using a quote and sentiment stamp from Quietfire Design ("Music Expresses That..."); ("Valentine-Love" 8pce set)

Click on any image to enlarge. Enjoy

Folded my white 8.5 x 11 cardstock in half and hand cut the base card, scored along the center fold line to create the easel structure (bottom image). Cut another piece same size as front and adhered to front. Finished card size is 7"w x 5"h

Cut the upper heart from white cardstock and sponged/inked all over with Distress Oxides "Worn Lipstick" , misted with water.

Made sure the heart was totally dry, also used an antic static bag and stamped the quote minus the word "music" using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed - making sure the stamping would not interfere with the keyboard. Adhered to front. (don't need a full heart as the bottom section is covered with the keyboard)

Stamped the "music" word on a piece of white cardstock with the black and clear embossed. Trimmed down and added picots to either end. Adhered diagonally to heart.

Cut the curvy piece from white cardstock and drew vertical lines using a black marker at 4/10" increments.

Cut a bunch of black strips 3/10"w and glue them appropriately to the keyboard, cutting off the excess. Adhered to card front.
On the Floor: Cut another wavy piece from white cardstock, sponged inked with the worn lipstick, misted with water.

Made sure the piece was dry and stamped the sentiment with the black and clear embossed.

Die cut the "Love" from a white and a black cardstock. Adhered both layers together, slightly offset, then adhered to wavy piece.

Adhered wavy piece to floor using 3D foam tape to act as my stopper.

Because I am thankful

Today is my first post for the this brand new year and i decided to start in with a Valentine card.  Quietfire Design carries beautiful dies in their online shop that you can pair with their stamps so for my card i use the "Because" die for the outside and stamped " I am thankful for all you do" on the inside.  I used new Valentine papers from Bo Bunny and cut out the sentiment in the same shade of deep rose to match.  I especially love the flowers on both edges and how it really makes the die cut pop across the center.

The stamp on the inside i used from the set called "I don't tell you often enough".

It's a great set that has lots of other beautiful sentiments you can use for so many other cards to send throughout the year.  It even has i love you for Valentines day! It's a definite must have...

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!  Teresa

Sending a little hope for you

Hi everyone and welcome to the Quietfire Design blog today.  There are so many gorgeous stamps being released this month it was really hard to chose one to do my post but i found the perfect one and decided to make a card for a friend that lost someone special in her life a couple of weeks ago.

The stamp i used is called "Hope is the thing with Feathers".  It's a beautiful quote by Emily Dickinson and is perfect to send to a special person that needs exactly that... a little hope. To make it stand out i used Archival ink in deep rich red and embossed it to match the papers that i picked out.  The papers are from my stash but anything you have similar would work i am sure.

Sometimes when I have lots of pretty things spread out on my table.. I get really inspired and just keep going..... so I have another card to share to give for Valentines.

For this card i used some of the same pretty Valentines papers I used on my first card and created a card using the stamp called "The Greatest strength is gentleness".  I also stamped this in red ink and the artist name wasn't in the right place so i cut it and stamped it at the bottom so it would fit better.

Then i added a pretty bow, leaves and a rose to finish it up.  Valentines is such a fun time to create things for your friends, the colors are so pretty and joyful and I am sure you will get lots of smiles and happy notes back thanking you for your thoughtfulness.  Have fun and be sure and check out all the other love inspired stamps and heart inspired stamps in the Quietfire store!

Thank you for stopping by and see you all again soon!!

New die inspiration for you

Hi everyone it's Teresa here on this wonderful Friday to share a few ideas using our brand new release of dies coming out at the CHA show.  There are some gorgeous additions to our already amazing selection of Way with Word dies that you can preview here so i hope you can be inspired to create some fun and amazing gifts to give to your family and friends this year ....

So my first card is using the newest die "Together"... My brother got married on Valentines day so this card was inspired for them celebrating their wedding day.  Inside i can add a wonderful sentiment from all the Quietfire stamps that go with it and it will be ready to send out.  It is simple and elegant which made it really quick to make and the dies cut glitter paper like butter so that was really nice.

My second card is using the new "Sweet Smiles" die set.  I can think of so many uses for this die set and for me i decided to make it up with gorgeous papers from my Basic Grey stash and pretty chipboard and glitter.  I cut the die twice to give it a shadow and then popped it up with tiny 3D foam dots to make it stand out like the chipboard wreath that i used from GSLC.

And lastly i thought i would go a totally different way and use some of my Doodlebug paper stash and create a Valentine card.  For this i used the new "Because" die and cut it out on red paper to match with the paper die cut i used on the top.  It stands out really nice and on the top i made it as a card that opens to put in a message and gift card to my recipient.  I used the I love you stamp from the "I don't tell you often enough set" to put a message inside to go with the Because sentiment on the top.  It's fun that so many of the sentiments are made to go with the stamps that Quietfire carries.

So that is all from me today but be sure and check back each day for new ideas and inspiration from our Design team using these gorgeous new dies.... Have a wonderful weekend!

Love you always and forever

It's Teresa here today on this beautiful Monday in California.. posting a pretty and whimsical card that i did combining 2 of the new Way with Word die sets.  The dies worked perfect together and i was really happy with how quick and easy that it went together.

The first die i used is called "Love" and it has beautiful serifs and cut the glittery red cardstock that i used perfectly.  Then i used the "Thank you" die set and only cut the you from it.  The papers i used are from Doodlebug and they gave it a whimsical and bright contrast with the glitter red papers and bright pink bow that i put on it.

The card backround is pretty basic with just using a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch white card base and then adding layers of the glittery paper to make the words pop and some machine stitching around the outside.  You can get this effect by punching it with a poker tool of somekind or just stitching around the card with no thread in the machine.  It's so easy and you can adjust the holes to any length that you think looks good.

You can buy both of these dies in the online store here with lots more that you can have fun with and create amazing cards and projects with!!  Have a nice and very crafty day and don't forget to check back for more Quietfire inspiration this week!

Sunshine to my heart card..

Hi Everyone it's Teresa here today to share a different kind of Valentine card with
all of you.  I wanted to do something pretty but not so mushy and pink like all the
rest of the cards they have at this time of year.  So many of my students tell me that
they like other styles to give so i used the "You are the Sunlight" stamp for this one
and i had the perfect paper in my stash to make it just right.

I have been all inspired to do easel cards lately so i created this one
with a sunlight paper that i had in an Avery Elle 6x6 paper pad
and lots and lots of flowers. The border paper also went perfect and
i just got that from Authentique.

The circle die that i stamped on is from Spellbinders and is called
Splendid Circles and kind of reminded me of a big huge sun
and all the foliage is from a die called Sprigs and a few from Foliage Flourish.
The flowers are from Prima and the rhinestone swirl is from Want2Scrap.
And the pearls i did with Liquid pearls from Ranger.
It's different but i really like the yellow and white :)

Thanks for stopping over and hope you all have a wonderful day!

Mixing hot pink and silver embossing powder got me a duo look.

a set of 8 stamps.

My fav file of the week
The box was left over from a Hop with Walnut Hollow.
It holds decks of cards or ATC's, so this sentiment said it for me!
