The moment a child is born....

Hello everyone,
Yvonne here with a cute baby card.
Being such a wonderful and loving Quietfire Design quote the stamp "The Moment a Child is Born"is, I could not resist making a cute baby card with it.
And of course perfectly to be combined with the Quietfire Design  - A Way with Stencils -  Heart and Paw prints.

To make the card:

  • stencil the hearts onto some white cardstock using an ink blending tool and pink (chalk) ink.
  • dab some pink ink onto the bottom of the card as well.
  • Stamp the Quietfire sentiment stamp using black ink.
  • die-cut the pram and the bunny and adhere using 3D foam squares.
  • embellish with liquid pearls, pearls and rhinestones.
  • Mat upon blue cardstock and then upon a white card base.

Used materials:

I hope you like the card.
Thanks for stopping by and wishing you happy crafting!

Mixed Media Valentine's Card

Hello and a Happy Monday to You!!!  Yes, Mondays can be happy... if we let them be :-)

It's Wanda (Art By Wanda) here today to share a Valentine's mixed media card using products from Suzanne's A Way With Words line from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I started with a 5" square of watercolor paper adding Grit-Paste through the hearts of the Hearts & Paw Prints Sprays Stencil in 3 lines flipping the stencil for the center line so the hearts sit together better.

Once the paste was dry I added color with Distress Spray Stains.  The Brushed Pewter was dripped on instead of being sprayed on.  I was heavy handed when spraying the Tattered Rose and Picket Fence getting puddles of color and allowing colors to blend and run and then dried it with a heat tool.

I deepened the color around the edges with Distress Ink Fired Brick.

Next I added embossing around the edge with Fran-tage Powder.  I rubbed an embossing ink pad on the edge, added the powder and heated.  When the edges were done I added some random spots/piles of powder on the card and heated it from underneath so I didn't blow the powder around.  I love these spots as you can really see the different grains in the powder.

"love you" (Love & Hearts Collection) is stamped on white cardstock with Archival Ink Jet Black.  I then drew a heart around the words, cut it out and added embossing.  Since I loved those spots of embossing on the card so much, I put more powder on the edges of the heart and heated it from the bottom.  I did get a few specks in the center but thought it looked fine for the card.

Gold mesh ribbon and cheesecloth start my grouping.

"love" from the Baby Love cutting die set was cut from red cardstock.

I made the Garden Notes Rose 2 flower for my card.  There is a video on the Elizabeth Craft Designs You Tube channel for this flower Here.  I used green cardstock for the stem, cutting 2 to layer.  Shading was done with Distress Ink Peeled Paint and Highlights with Pan Pastel Bright Yellow Green.  The pieces for the rose and rosebud were cut from White Soft Finish Cardstock.  I inked the edges with Distress Ink Worn Lipstick.  For the rose I punched a small circle and built my flower on that because once it was built I sprayed it and the pieces for the bud with Ranger Mica Spray Pearl.  This way I could spray the rose without spraying everything else.  I attached the stem to the card, glued on the rose and built the bud right on the card.

The love you heart was attached with foam tape.  I also added some wet glue onto the tape so it would press through the cloth and ribbon giving a good bond to the card.

The red hearts are Tim Holtz Idea-ology Mirrored Hearts colored with Red Pepper Alcohol Ink.

In this picture you can see the shimmer from the Mica Spray on the rose.  I also added some dots of Nuvo Glitter Drops Honey Gold onto the card.  You can see a couple in this picture.

I'm very pleased with how this card came out!!!  I hope you are too!!

Thanks for following along and, please, if you have time, leave us a comment.

Hugs, Wanda

"Baby Love" puppy scrapbook page

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing a sweet scrapbook page of my "baby", Teddy.  That's right, the Baby Love die set is perfect for the furry family members, too!  I adore this cute photo of Teddy and had to create a scrapbook page to remember him as a wee puppy.

The Hearts and Paws Prints Spray stencil was also used on the page.  I used texture paste for the paws...
...and brown archival ink with the hearts.
Did you notice the heart in the "a" in Baby?  Brown ink was used in that heart, too.  So cute!
The layout is adorable with the Baby Love die set and Hearts and Paw Prints stenciled details.  Seeing the page makes my heart happy.  :)
Thank you for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the layout.  Feel free to share your "Baby Love" projects via link below or on the Quietfire Facebook page.  Would be great to see what you create!

Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Friendship isn't a Big Thing

Hello All!!!!!!!  It's Wanda here today with a mixed media card.

My main panel is 6 3/8" x 4 3/4".  Using the Flourished Frame Stencil I applied white Embossing Paste to the panel (be sure to clean the stencil right away when finished).  Once the paste was dry, I inked over the panel with Distress Oxide Inks - Fossilized Amber in the center area and Cracked Pistacchio around the edges - allowing the colors to blend in the frame area.  Once inked I lightly sprayed the panel with water and dried it.  Next I used the Distress Marker Spiced Marmalade on the embossing paste, applying some on the top of the paste and then using my finger to rub and spread it.  Yes, some went off the paste onto the card creating shadows, more in some areas and less in others.  The quote, Friendship Isn't A Big Thing, was stamped onto the panel with Archival Ink Jet Black using the Misti Stamping Tool.  It was stamped a few times to make it nice and dark.  Next I stenciled the hearts, Hearts and Paws Prints Spray Stencil, with Fossilized Amber Oxide.  Where the ink went over the lettering it softened the color but I hadn't removed the stamp from the press so was able to stamp it again.  Later I decided I should have used Cracked Pistacchio so stenciled the hearts again bumping the stencil a bit and not covering all the Fossilized Amber. I then gave a very light misting of water over the panel.  I had meant to stamp the quote again but forgot until I was already assembling the flower on the card.  It is not as noticeable in person as it is in the picture.  The flower is Susan's Garden Notes Queen Anne's Lace (Elizabeth Craft Designs). There are wonderful videos on YouTube for cutting and assembling the flowers.  Finally I edged the panel with Distress Paint Tarnished Brass.  This is layered to a white panel, green craft thread (Tim Holtz) wrapped around, and layered to the folded green card.
