Wishes and Dreams Waterfall Album

It's Suzanne here and I'm just slipping in between the inspiring art posts to share something I've had, but finally got on the website tonight.

When I was at CHA in January, I happened by the Prima Booth at the same time Leeza Gibbons was there.  Let me tell you, she is just stunning in real life!  I apologize to her for the less than flattering photo.  I was so surprised to see her that I snapped a photo and left thinking that I shouldn't be there....

Leeza was there to promote her new scrapbook line called Wishes and Dreams.  At the time, I didn't slow down to study it, but when I got home, I saw this album and fell in love with the idea.  So I have a few in stock and I was afraid they would get lost if I didn't share them with you here!

These albums are quite large measuring 12.5 x 9" are made of chipboard and contain 14 chipboard sheets, 6 cardstock pocket pages, 2 photo sleeves and have 22 pages per album.

And no, I have not started to work on mine yet!

Thanks for stopping by!

Floral Thank You

Happy Monday!!!!!!!!!!

It's Wanda (design team alumni) here today to share a tag with you using a stamp from the Floral Thank You set.

I love how this background turned out and it's very easy to do!!!!  I put the Dreamweaver stencil, jungle leaves, on a #10 manila tag centering it side-to-side just below the reinforced hole, applied translucent paste with a palette knife, and removed and washed the stencil.  While the paste was still wet I "sprayed" on Distress Stains picked raspberry, peacock feathers and squeezed lemonade.  Yes, I said "sprayed"... to do this I opened the stain bottles (you can pry the top off where the seam is between the black plastic and the white) and poured each one into a mister bottle... ta-da Sprayable Stain.  I let the stain just sit and dry naturally on the paste leaving fabulous color - deeper where the paste is and lighter on the manila.  I tore off the bottom of the tag and added Distress Paint tarnished brass to the edges going wider along the torn bottom.

For the flowers and leaves I cut Spellbinders bitty blossoms from watercolor paper, sprayed each flower with stain (same colors as background) and stained the leaves with mowed lawn.  I added shading to each flower and leaf with Distress Ink in their respective colors (for the lines on the leaves I folded the leaf and rubbed the fold with Distress ink) and also white pen doodling on each flower, rolled up and glued each flower and added a white pearl bead to the center of the largest flower.

For the sentiment, I stamped "Thank You" with Archival Ink jet black on a piece of 13mm white silk ribbon, added color with Distress stains and dried it. The ink bleeds slightly on the ribbon but overall when seeing it in person and not on a computer screen, it looks good!!!    Attached the piece as shown taping it to the back of the tag and glued on the leaves and flowers. A piece of pretty paper can be cut and attached to the back of the tag to hide the taped ends.

For the bow, I again took 13mm ribbon, laid it on a craft sheet and sprayed it with Distress Stain, spraying one color, then another color next to it and continuing until the whole piece was sprayed... if there were any spots where a color wasn't bleeding into the next color I put just a little spray of water to help it along... and dried the ribbon.  I did not move the piece of ribbon until it was getting dry so the colors wouldn't get messed up...  put the ribbon through the hole, tied a bow and then added white pen squiggles to the ends.

The Woods Would Be Very Silent - New Stamps!

Welcome to our newest stamp set!

I've loved this quotation for a long time.
This stamp set brings a little bit of encouragement with three calligraphic sentiments as well as two pointed pen ornamental birds, one classical and one chubby little chickadee. Love chickadees! And I managed to create an ornamental bird after saying I couldn't for years.
(for the calligraphers:  I used Mitchell Roundhand Nibs for the broad-edged lettering and Higgins Eternal Ink .  The pointed pen was a Gillott 303 using Higgins Eternal.  All artwork was done on either Canson Pro Marker Layout Paper or Boris #37 Layout Paper.)

Our designers have just started creating with this set, so you should take a trip to their blogs to have a closer look....

Here is what Yogi has been up to;
this first one can be seen at this link.

Yogi's other card below can be seen at this link.

This next one below is a chickadee in his Sunday best!
You can see him closer on Wanda's blog here

Oh, boy, do I love these torn edges!
Robyn's flock of atcs using the new set may be seen here.

We hope these projects give some ideas for your own creating!
Thanks for having a look!

Happy Birthday with lots of Love...

Hi Everyone it's Teresa Horner here on this lovely
Monday morning to share a fun idea with you for using
the Quietfire Design Birthday Stamp Set #6382 and
some brand New Spellbinders Dies available this month to buy!

First let me share the stamp set that I used.

This is one of my favorite stamps sets because you get
4 beautiful sentiments in the set and a frame to use with
with your Spellbinders Nestabilites Labels One die or just use it alone.

For my project today I created an elegant purse gift set
using the Spellbinders Labels Eighteen die set for the sides
of the purse and the embossed centers on them
along with the new Spellbinders Shapabilities Lace Hearts
set for the front. I also made a beautiful matching card
to fit inside that can hold a gift card or small chocolates.
The Lace Hearts die has 6 fun little pieces that you can
mix and match and are super easy stamp on.
The kraft and pink papers complemented
each other and really made the
stamped Birthday sentiment pop out even more.

We also have another need to have set with tiny
sentiments that you can use for tags and other tiny
little pieces that you need to stamp.  It is #6382 and
I used the Happy Birthday sentiment to match and cut
it out as a tag and tied it with twine to my purse.

Here is a closer view with the little gift card holder
inside of the purse. It fits perfectly and you could tuck
some tissue and little pieces of candy with the
gift card holder to sweeten it up even more!

I used 2 layers of the heart dies for the front and stamped
in dark brown ink on the top and embossed with clear
embossing powder. The pearls are made with Liquid Pearls
in white opal. The kraft backround under the heart is another new
Spellbinders Die available this month called
Spellbinders Shapeabilites, Tapestry.
You can get both of these new dies just by clicking
on the names and adding them to your basket!

We loved that you stopped over today and hope
you will have fun creating this fun set!

Tree Mask - Christmas is the Day

Hi all, Yogi here with two cards using the same stamps and technique - you decide which you like better. BIG GRIN. They are both very quick and easy to make and I'll be running off a bunch for my Xmas stash this year... Have you started yours yet??

I side folded the white card - 4.25"w x 5.5"h.

Die cut the Xmas tree (Marianne Designs CR1224) from cardstock to use as a stencil. Its a really big tree - 6" tall.

Sponged Distress Broken China in linear streaks going from a solid area into the opening. Note: the normal circular motion that I use would ruin the stencil, hence the linear streaks.

Keeping the stencil in place, stamped the pine tree scene (Cornish Heritage Farms "The Pines") using Versafine Black Onyx.

Stamped the quote (Quietfire Design) Using the black.

On one of the cards I used a decorative rotary blade on the edges. On the other card I drew in a border with a Zig Writer. I have a tendency to like the one with the border best...

Hope you give it a try. Any large die should work coupled with a small scene type stamp or a larger scenic stamp and selectively choose an area on it.

You are Amazing, Congratulations

Hi Everyone, Jutta Maraun here with the honor of being Quietfire Design guest designer for August.
I have enjoyed using Quietfire Design Stamps and products since my dear friend Holly introduced me to them in 2010.

Today I’d like to share with you my Versatile Congratulations Card.
The wonderful Home – Congratulations! Stampset and Webster’s Pages 6x6 designer paper are the inspiration for this card. I call it versatile because after I added the pearls to the nest I thought it will work as a Congrats on starting a family card too.

To begin, I cut a base and the mat from TH Kraft-core Nostalgic collection 12x12 Cardstock stack.
Then I stamped the 1-1/2” White Silk Ribbon with Congratulations and Floral Scrolls from the Home – Congratulations! Stampset.

To assemble I adhered the Designer paper to the Kraft-core mat, then attached the Ribbon with two strips of 3/16” Be creative Double Sided Tape. Then this lot was attached to the base and coloured beads were added.

With the left over pieces I made this Bookmark.  The You are Amazing stamp is one of my all time favorites. The Die is Memory Box Umbrell  and the Ribbon is the ½” White Silk to which I added Distress Ink stripes in matching colours.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today. Thanks for allowing me to share!

Floral Thank You French Country Style!

Good morning!  Sherry here with you today and I have a card using Floral Thank You, lots of Spellbinders and Graphic 45 French Country to share with you.  I have to admit that my project today was supposed to be a journal page (well at least in mind that what I had planned).  Needless to say, after a few unsuccessful attempts and some ripping and tearing of pages, I ended up with the following card instead.

ThankYouCardAug2013

Using Graphic 45 French Country Collection for the card base, all the guess work of matching paper was taken out of the equation.  I love to work with Graphic 45 papers . . . the mixing and matching is all right there for you!  The border under the distressed paper edge was created with Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders One.

The sentiment “Thank You” was stamped on a cutout from the French Country Collection and then wrapped with a frame die cut from chipboard using Labels Twenty-Eight.

ThankYouCardAug2013 Sentiment

The flower was made using Bitty Blossoms, wrapping all three layers together.  The ribbon was dyed with Aged Mahogany Distress Stain and the edges of all the paper where sponged with Antique Linen and/or Vintage Photo.

ThankYouCardAug2013Two

Thanks for joining me today!
