Hello and Happy Tuesday!!! It's Wanda here today sharing a wintry tag using the We are like Snowflakes beautiful Quietfire stamp. We've had some cooler than average days the past week here in south central Iowa and the mornings make you think winter is on it's way... and it is... but hopefully won't actually arrive for a couple more months at least.
I started with a Ranger #10 manila tag and trimmed off the bottom so it was only 5 1/2" long. I swiped Distress Paint picket fence vertically on the tag not wanting full coverage at all. The paint was dried and then I put some Distress Stains on my craft sheet (you could easily use Distress Inks or Sprays for this) and dragged the tag through the ink, blotted it and dried it. I dug out some snowflake punches (nothing new, just what I could find in my punch drawers), punched snowflakes from a scrap strip of cardstock and then used this strip as a stencil to stencil the snowflakes in the background with white paint. I used stencil brush for this to get great detail. Don't overload the brush with paint, go easy and it works fabulous!! The quote is stamped with Archival Ink jet black and embossed with clear detail powder. A white paint pen was used to color in the hearts on the snowflake. Vintage photo Distress Ink was sponged around the edges and then watered-down, white paint splattered over the tag. I cut the Sizzix, Tim Holtz snowflake on-the-edge die cut from white cardstock, glued it on and added rock candy glitter along the bottom. Ribbon at the top finishes it off!
