Enjoy the hop!

I've used the Leaf and Snowflake Sprays stencil for my card and I've combined it with the fabulous stamp, If Kisses Were Snowflakes.

I began with a piece of Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock and marbled Distress Paint (broken china, dusty concord, picked raspberry) onto it by putting paint on my craft sheet, spraying with water, dipping the paper into it, spraying more water on the paper... drying, dipping, spraying, and drying until I liked it.  Over this I stenciled just parts of the Snowflake Spray with white paint (PaperArtsy Fresco Finish, Snowflake) and then splattered white paint over the entire piece.

The quote was stamped in the center with Versafine Ink (onyx black) and embossed with clear powder.  I stenciled almost a complete spray above the quote with Silver Embossing Paste (Bo Bunny), let it dry, and repeated below the quote flipping the stencil so the snowflakes went large to small in the opposite direction, and let it dry.  I added white Embossing Paste (Wendy Vecchi, Dreamweavers) around the edges leaving it in bumps like hills of snow and let that dry.  This was layered to a purplish cardstock leaving a small border.  The next layer is a silver Deco Sheet (Tim Holtz Idea-ology) attached to a piece of cardstock and trimmed to size.  Lastly is the folded white card base.  To finish it off I glued on a white pearly snowflake button, shank cut off.

I hope you've enjoyed my card!!!  Don't forget to leave a comment!!

Hugs, Wanda

How lovely! The background is pretty - you didn't make 'mud' which I often do when trying that technique ;) Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for setting me straight, Wanda! I've been admiring all of the stencils, but didn't realize how detailed the Leaf & Snowflake Sprays are. Beautiful! I have been very lazy the past few years with making my own Christmas cards ((meaning that I haven't made any...), but this stencil sure looks like an elegant way to make some with a lot of sparkle. I appreciate the inspiration!
