Some people, like flowers

Morning!  Today I wanted to share with you how you can be flexible with a particular set of cards.  I've been on a spring kick lately - making lots of flowers. So naturally I gravitated towards a quote that had flowers in it.  Garden Delights is a large set of stamps and my favorite one from there is "Some people, like flowers, give pleasure just by being." What a nice way to let someone know you appreciate just who they are.

I centered the quote on a white card base.  I then framed it with the Spellbinders Tiara Rondelle die.  The die is a bit bigger than my card so I trimmed off the excess on the bottom.

I added the 3D roses by Altenew.  Here you can change the color scheme as you would like as well as the number of flowers in your floral spray.

(Hmm... I should have shown you that instead of the Tiara die you can use any frame die for this - even a rectangle or square one.)

My last example is a leftover sticker I picked up at Michaels for a scrapbooking project.  Don't limit yourself!

Garden Delights

Good Morning.  This is Selma Stevenson today.  I have designed a card with one of Suzanne's Garden Delights stamps.

Garden Delights, set of 8 stamps - Mounted
Here is a picture showing all the stamps in this set.

The pretty sentiment was stamped using black Versafine Ink then die cut using one of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Rectangles.  It was backed with red card stock.

The flowers were created with Susan's Garden Geranium dies.  The green Leafy Branch and the red Ribbons down the left side are from the Els van de Burgt Studio line, from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Don't you love all the stamps in this Garden Delights stamp set!

Gentle Thoughts

Good Morning.  This is Selma Stevenson today.  I love this beautiful sentiment by Suzanne.

Garden Delights, set of 8 stamps - Mounted

The sentiment is one of the stamps in the Garden Delights stamp set.  It was framed by using Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched and Fitted Frame dies.

The flower was created with Susan's Garden Notes Bluebonnet/Lupine dies.

A Way With Words, Calligraphic Elements 1

The A Way With Words Calligraphic Elements Heart was die cut several times and layered for dimension.

To finish the card, sticky flat backed pearls were added.

ECD Happy - Fuchsia - The Hum of Bees

Yogi here today - I love doing this smushed glue resist background... BIG GRIN

I'm using part of - One of the NEWEST "A Way With Words" dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ("Happy Anniversary"), designed by Suzanne Cannon (also available HERE).

I'm also using a quote stamp "The Hum of Bees" (Garden Delights 8pce set) from Quietfire Design

Side folded my white card (5"w x 7"h). Sponged some Distress "Tumbled Glass" to mimic the sky.

Created my border background using white cardstock. Applied direct to paper Distress "Old Paper", then "Antique Linen" all over then some "Weathered Wood". Applied a few drops of PVA glue and smeared with my finger. Allowed to completely dry... then went over again with the old paper and some "Walnut Stain". Die cut the center out (Spellbinders "Majestic Elements Resplendent Rectangles"). Adhered to card front using 3D foam tape.

Created an eCut file of my flower stamps (Heartfelt Creations "Fuchsia Bouquet") - no fussy cutting BIG GRIN..., importing them to my Silhouette machine and cutting out from 90# cold press watercolor paper - smooth side. Inked my stamp with Distress mini pads, misted with water and stamped on to the eCut piece, then with a damp brush, moved the color around.

When dry, re-inked my stamp with the same colors and re stamped to reinforce the color strength. Final touch misted with Perfect Pearls "Perfect Pearls" mist. Added dots of Liquid Pearls "White Opal" on the stamen.

Stamped the quote (
"Garden Delights" 7pce set), positioning it in relation to the fuchsia, using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed

Adhered my fuchsia elements and the purple/gold Sari bow.

Die cut the "Happy"
("Happy Anniversary") from soft finish cardstock (love the texture).

Die cut the bees (Elizabeth Craft Designs) from white cardstock, inked the body with a yellow Prisma Premier marker and the black with a Zig Writer, then adhered everything together. Applied Quickie glue to the wings and sprinkled with Stickles Dry Glitter "Diamond".

Adhered the bee and word Happy to the card front. Hopefully someone reads it as "be happy"...

"Dandelions are sunny highlights" tag

quietfire, dandelion, bee, tag, tim holtz, ranger, distress stain, graphic 45 tag, distress stain, watercolor, stickles, ranger, burlap, crackle
Hello All!  Kathy Jo here sharing a nature inspired tag.  The tag was inspired by a walk I took on Saturday.  It was a lovely day here in Nova Scotia and I went for a walk with my husband and Saint Bernard, Ella.  On the walk we saw many full dandelions soaking up the summer sun.  I looked down on a large grouping of dandelions and saw the plumpest bumble bee happily buzzing from flower to flower.  That moment inspired this tag.

All of the stamps were from one Quietfire Design set, Garden Delights (set of 8):

Watercolor paper was watercolored using Distress Stain in Mustard Seed.  The oval garden delights was stamped using Adirondack ink in Jet Black.  Next, Distress Stain in Mowed Lawn was applied to watercolor paper and the Dandelions stamp was applied in more Jet Black.  A wee bee was stamped in Jet black and fussy cut.  The leftover stains were soaked up by seam binding and a triple bow was made.

A Kraft tag (Graphic 45) had white Distress Crackle applied.  Green burlap was added.  At the bottom of the tag I adhered some moss- it was messy to work with but it really accentuated the nature theme.  Wee flowers were punched from Mustard Seed distressed paper and Stickles applied.
I do hope you enjoyed the tag.  It was too fun to make and I absolutely adore the stamp set from Quietfire.  What a perfect stamp set for summer inspired projects!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Some people...

Hello!  I'm so excited that flowers have started to bloom that they are creeping into my cards too!  I made this card using Quietfire's Garden Delights.  I first embossed it using ultra fine black embossing powder and cut it out using Spellbinders Floral Ovals.  I had just gotten Sue Wilson's Spanish Collection - Seville and I thought it would be a great backdrop to this sweet quote.  I popped up the layers and added a swag of flowers from Wild Orchid Flowers - you just have to with a quote like this! :)

Hope you like it and find pleasure in all the people and flowers in your life!

Some people, like flowers.....

Good morning everyone!
Yvonne here  today with a cute little gift box using Quietfire Design's Garden Delights (set of 8 stamps).

Besides cards I love making little gift boxes to make a present extra special, or...just to keep small precious things, notes and memories in....
A stamped sentiment makes the box just that little extra special and what better way than to use a beautiful sentiment as this one.

For my project I used an eco shape box I had in my stash (size appr. 4"x 4"x 2") with a lid on it.
First I glued little torn pieces of an old book page onto the box using some acrylic paint which I also used for the white wash effect.
Then used an ink blending tool and brown Distress ink to add that brown, worn/old look.
around the circle in the lid some twine was glued.
The sentiment is stamped onto white cardstock and glued under the opening in the lid.
Finish the box of with lots of mullbery flowers, leaves and some tiny wooden spools.
The music notes around the lid is made with washi tape.
The pink border is made using a Spellbinders die template.

Used materials:

I hope you like my little box and am looking forward to your comments.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs from Holland,
Yvonne

Blog Hop! My Dark Side is Chocolate and Scrapbook Adhesives Products

Welcome to our blog hop with Scrapbook Adhesives, makers of quality and creative adhesives!

Thanks for dropping by today, Jutta here and my project is
two Quote Magnets with Gift Cards.

Left -My dark side is chocolate  quote stamp is from a Quietfire Design set of the same name. It is the perfect fit for the quote magnet embellishing the gift card.

And below another quote magnet with the happy Dandelions are sunny highlights for your lawn quote stamp from the Quietfire Design GardenDelights stamp set.
Here is a close up of the Quote Magnets with the fun little
faux metallic charms made by heat embossing.
Quote Magnet and Gift Card Instructions
For Dandelion Magnet:
First I coloured the Delight Icon Wooden Frame by swiping Milled Lavender Distress Ink on top only.  After ink dried I applied Perfect Medium to Delight Icon Wooden Frame and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This was repeated several times until I had the look I wanted.

Next using Black StazOn Ink I stamped the Dandelion Quote from the Quietfire Design Garden Delights stamp set on a piece of Acetate. When this was dry I used Butterscotch Adirondack Pigment Ink and Gold Ink to stamp image from Stampin Up! on the reverse side of Acetate and in behind quote.

Then I cut the Magnet sheet, DCWV Burlap cardstock and stamped Acetate to 2-1/2” W x 1-3/4” H
and adhered all layers together with Double sided tape then onto Delight Icon Wooden Frame.

For the bucket and rake faux metal charms I used the 3D Foam Garden Shapes which I heat embossed in silver embossing powder then used a brown permanent marker to color handle on rake. When cooled I attached them to front of Delight Icon Wooden Frame to complete.

For Chocolate Magnet:
First I coloured the front of Delight Icon Wooden Frame with Broken China Distress Stain.  After the stain dried I applied Perfect Medium to frame and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This was repeated several times until I had the look I wanted.

Next with Espresso Adirondack Pigment Ink I stamped My dark side is chocolate  from the Quietfire Design set My dark side is chocolate on a piece of Vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Then I cut the Magnet sheet, DCWV Burlap cardstock and stamped Vellum to 2-1/2” W x 1-3/4” H.
and adhered all layers with Double sided tape to Delight Icon Wooden Frame.
For the faux metal heart charms I used 3D Foam Hearts which I heat embossed in gold embossing powder. When cooled I attached them to front of Delight Icon Wooden Frame to complete.

To make gift card for Chocolate quote magnet:
I started with a 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” white cardstock base.
Then cut Patterned paper from Docrafts to 5-1/4” x 4”and antique edges using Antique linen Distress marker blended with a damp water brush.

Next I attached the DCWV Burlap cardstock oval to Patterned paper from Docrafts with E-Z runner tape. Under this I attached the Striped Ribbon with Crafty power tape adding the three pleats as I went along.

I attached the front panel to card base using the E-Z runner. To complete I added the gold cardstock SB diecut to the ribbon and paper with tacky glue. Folded and pleated a paper doily and adhered with
E-Z runner tape.
To complete I attached the Quote Magnet with a couple of pop dots and added the pearls.

To make gift card for Dandelion quote magnet:
I started with a 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” white cardstock base.
Then cut Patterned paper from Docrafts to 5-1/2” x 4-1/4”and antique edges using Antique linen Distress marker blended with a damp water brush.

Next I ran a strip of Crafty power tape across panel before adding purple glitter to it.

Using Milled Lavender Distress Ink diluted with water I dyed the ribbon which I dried with my heat tool prior to adhering to center and back of panel with E-Z runner tape.

I stamped the Quietfire Design Dotted Harlequin Background stamp on a piece of DCWV Burlap cardstock with Adirondack pigment ink before using the TH Styled Labels Die to cut it out. Then I adhered the label to panel using E-Z runner tape.
To complete I added the Quote Magnet with pop dots.
